Digital Marketing Assistant

JOB OVERVIEW:

Observer Media is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Digital Marketing Assistant to support the development and implementation of strategic marketing initiatives. This role offers an exciting growth opportunity for individuals with a passion for social media, data-driven and digital marketing, and a desire to contribute to the success of an innovative player in the media industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and execute organic and paid cross-channel marketing campaigns that increase readers, event attendees and newsletter subscribers.

  • Coordinate with the marketing and revenue operations teams to manage digital marketing campaigns around editorial features, ensuring that promotional and sponsor assets are created and trafficked for web, email, and social media.

  • Collaborate with the product and marketing teams to execute on newsletter audience development campaigns, including on social media, email, and other paid media platforms.

  • Support the development and execution of email marketing campaigns, including drafting emails, managing subscriber lists, and analyzing campaign performance.

  • Coordinate organic and paid social media for Observer Media to grow followers, engagement & traffic.

  • Manage organic and paid social media posting and campaigns.

  • Capture and promote social media content from our live and virtual events.

  • Build and manage digital marketing campaigns with the revenue operations team’s insights to meet client custom content viewership goals.

  • Manage cross-platform operations and reporting for Observer Media to support brand development and platform growth.

  • Report on social media activities and impact, making recommendations to increase followers, engagement and referral traffic.

  • Report on promotional and lead generation campaign performance to optimize revenue marketing outreach.

  • Produce social media campaigns to support editorial, events & sales.

  • Execute daily new and evergreen posts in partnership with the marketing and editorial teams to increase readership of editorial features.

  • Perform audience monitoring and engagement initiatives via Hootsuite, SocialFlow, and native social platforms to grow followers and on-platform engagement.

  • Draft sales marketing posts to increase event and editorial sponsorship inquiries.

  • Develop quarterly social media audience analysis and audit.

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to produce a quarterly analysis of competitors and opportunities for our brand social media growth.

  • Maintain regular knowledge of key cultural and social media trends & resources to provide the team with real-time insights through industry news and competitive research.

  • Provide project management and administrative assistance.

  • Assist with incoming requests from the Sales, Editorial, Revenue Operations, and Marketing team.

  • Assist the marketing team with ad-hoc projects as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.

  • Familiarity with all major social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube) as well as proficiency in email, the Google Suite, and generally web savvy

  • 1-3 years of experience developing visual and text assets for social media and email campaigns

  • 1-3 years of experience managing multiple projects and timelines

  • Proficiency in using data analysis tools, social media management platforms such as Hootsuite, Salesforce.com, and email platforms

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed recommendations

  • Flexibility and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Experience with graphic design and the Adobe Suite

  • Video/photo editing experience

SALARY RANGE: $40,000 - $55,000 per year (based on experience and skills)
